Former Jumanji child star Bradley Pierce looks back on his positive work experience with Robin Williams on the set of the classic.
In a recent interview with CBCListen, 38-year-old Pierce recalled how Williams, who died in 2014, defended the young actor against producers while filming a tax scene for the 1995 blockbuster.
"We were shooting the monsoon scene and I think it was day 7 or 8 in that rain tank," he said. "We were all in wetsuits, but spending 8 hours in the water was really exhausting. It came to an end and kids on set can only be on set for a certain number of hours. The producers approached our parents and said, 'We did only half an hour left for filming. Can we still work a little overtime to get this done? "" "
Pierce, who played orphan Peter Shepherd in the film, said the producers' idea wasn't "unusual" in films at the time, as it would likely save $ 100,000 to finish filming that day instead waiting.

However, Williams decided to get involved and spoke out on behalf of his young colleagues.
"Robin caught the wind of these conversations and apparently pulled the director and producers aside and said, 'No, we're not doing any extra time. You're going to get everyone out of the pool now and we'll be back next week," recalled Pierce .
"With all the dollars that would have cost no one else could have stood up like him," he said of Williams.
Of the late Mrs. Doubtfire star, Pierce continued, "Not only was he warm, generous, and kind, but he was very protective of us. He said to everyone, 'We're done today, time to go home.'" "

Jumanji also played Kirsten Dunst, Bonnie Hunt, David Alan Grier and Jonathan Hyde. The film grossed $ 263 million worldwide and was the 10th highest film of 1995.
Williams died of suicide on August 11, 2014, aged 63, after suffering from Lewy body dementia, a type of brain disease that affects thinking, memory, and movement control.
In August, his children Zelda (31) and Zak warmly paid tribute to the sixth anniversary of the tragic death of their father on Instagram.
