Justin & Hailey Bieber Were Bullied by Fans Who Chanted His Ex Selena’s Name at the Met Gala
It seems some viewers weren't quite ready to let go of the drama between Justin Bieber, Hailey Baldwin and Selena Gomez at the Met Gala. Unfortunately, when the Biebers showed up for the annual event on Monday September 13th, they were greeted by crowds singing "Selena" as they walked the carpet.
The chant was captured on Monday night in a now viral video that has since been shared by Page Six of the New York Post. The clip shows Justin, 27, posing for photos on the carpeted steps to the Met while the crowd cheers for his ex-girlfriend's name. The "Peaches" singer, who was back with Selena from 2010 to 2018, did his best to ignore the crowd when his wife Hailey, 24, walked over to him on the carpet. The two wore matching black ensembles as a couple on their first appearance at the Met Gala, with Hailey wearing an effortless Saint Laurent gown and Justin wearing a cropped tuxedo and wide-leg pants from his fashion label Drew House.

Selena, for her part, was absent from the Met Gala 2021. The 29-year-old singer "Lose You to Love Me" previously took part in Vogue's annual fundraising soiree in 2018. She was also pictured at the 2017 event along with her then boyfriend The Weeknd.
Monday night's drama at the Met is nowhere near the first time the Biebers have been mocked by Selena Stans. In December 2020, a social media user threatened Hailey and encouraged others to "hunt" Justin's wife with hateful comments. "This is the time when you do not disable comments," said the fan at the time, referring to an Instagram Live that Hailey had planned. “So we have to bomb this shit with Jelena and know how Selena is better. Follow her, please, let's all run after her. "

Justin fired back at the fan, calling her a "sad human apology" in an Instagram story. "That sad human excuse only encouraged people on video to literally go after my wife and tell people that my previous relationship was better," he wrote at the time. "I just wanted to share this so that people could get an idea of what we experience in everyday life."
He continued: “As many people as there are who want to spend their time publicly humiliating, shaming, and humiliating us, we would like to ask those who have it to rise up in prayer. We need prayer and support as we continue to present ourselves out there! "
Hailey, meanwhile, posted a screenshot of Justin's Instagram story on her account with her own comment. "I usually stay calm and don't acknowledge these things because I need to protect myself and my mental [health]," she wrote. “It really has reached a level of anger and hatred that is shockingly unhealthy and sad. I would never wish in a million years that someone was treated like this and I will never tolerate this kind of hateful behavior. "
