Kane is a complete player but Martial can be Man Utd's permanent No.9, says Yorke

Dwight Yorke believes current first-choice striker Anthony Martial is able to act as the club's number 9 fixture, despite rumors that Manchester United's goal is Harry Kane to be a "complete player".
United is reportedly weighing a big step for Tottenham talisman Kane in the summer window. The English captain has left the door open for a possible transfer to meet his cutlery ambitions, and Old Trafford has been questioned as his most likely next destination.
The Red Devils decided against signing a replacement for Romelu Lukaku when he joined Inter last year. Instead, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer trusted Martial to take the lead.
The Frenchman hasn't yet proven that he can deliver the goods consistently, but an excellent hat-trick in Wednesday's 3-0 win over Sheffield United was a clear reminder of his potential in the middle.
Yorke has suggested that his old club will not need Kane if Martial builds on his latest performance to get a coveted place in Solskjaer's lineup.
The ex-United shooter told Talksport: "Martial's hat trick last night and the way he scored the three goals shows he's an accomplished finisher."
"The fact is, when you play for United, you are checked to see if you are inconsistent and selected for criticism if you do not occur." We have to remember that these are young players and very new to Man United's way of life.
“United is always associated with top-class players and Harry Kane is at the top of the tree when it comes to number 9. He is a complete player. However, we have seen that United has invested a lot in young players and the No. 1. Position is a difficult position to play, it is a special position, Ally [McCoist] will vouch for it.
"So if someone like Harry Kane wants to join our football club, that can only be a big plus, but at the moment we have a lot of talent in the young squad and they just need playing time."

Yorke continued: “To be No. 9 you have to play there week after week. not a week left, then right and then you come back to the center.
"The top scorer in Premier League history, Alan Shearer for example, only played in one position and wasn't interested in any other place."
"Robbie Fowler, Andy Cole and Sergio Aguero only played in one position, so they were the best, and Harry Kane is in that group too."
“Martial has been with the club for several years and his preferred position is to play as a center forward. He got his chance and did it really well. I think he's ready to go. "
