Stephen King isn't the only author to have an argument with new owner Elon Musk on Twitter.
Veteran tech journalist and Pivot podcast co-host Kara Swisher, who has written for New York Magazine and The New York Times, retweeted Tuesday's Semafor article, which reported that Musk secretly married Sam Bankman-Fried of the now bankrupt FTX to make a $10 billion investment in the now private company. Bankman-Fried declined, but agreed to give Musk the $100 million stake he owned in Twitter.
In a Twitter Spaces conversation on Nov. 12, the day after FTX filed for bankruptcy, Musk rapped Bankman-Fried and said, "Everybody was talking about him like he walked on water and had a million dollars. And that [was] not my impression... something's wrong.” Musk has also claimed that his “bulls meter” was redlining over Bankman-Fried before FTX collapsed.

"Of course Elon took the $ and then dived in on SBF because it's all a game you all don't want y'all to see: Sam Bankman-Fried, Elon and a secret text," Swisher tweeted Tuesday afternoon.
The argument continued until Wednesday, when Musk accused her of no longer caring about the truth.
Swisher shot back, "There was a time when you cared about the truth @elonmusk. That's long gone. I add: Playing on the cheap (and dirty) courts is not a way of life. They may be my biggest disappointment in 25 years of coverage technology...

"Seriously, that's not the one I used to know. While there were many mistakes (me too), you had vision and drive and creativity and humor. Now it's all thin skinned ego and slaps and really bad dick jokes just like all the other guys. Long sustained sigh," she added.

Musk also called the Semafor article "a lie," Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith said in a Twitter thread. “As I said, neither I nor Twitter have taken any investment from SBF/FTX. Your article is a lie.”
He also accused them of bias, tweeting: "Semafor is owned by SBF. This is a massive conflict of interest in your reporting. Journalistic integrity is [garbage].”
