Kelly Ripa proves once again that she can really do everything.
This week, the popular Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host announced that she would publish her first book next year with Dey Street Books, a HarperCollins Publishers imprint. The name of her book is Live Wire (which is available for pre-order now) and is said to be composed of her personal essays, according to the Associated Press.
According to the sound of things, no subject is taboo. She will write her thoughts on her marriage to Mark Consuelos, raise her three children (Lola, Joaquin and Michael) and steer her career both as an actress on All My Children and now as a talk show co-host. According to one description of the book, the essays include "a sharp, funny, and honest collection of real life stories from Kelly Ripa that showcase the popular talk show host's many dimensions and sizzling wit."
“Whether she is telling how she and Mark really met, how much chauvinism she experienced on set, how Jersey Pride follows her wherever she goes, and many, many moments of utter humiliation (proving that you actually can't be before Embarrassment can die. ”) Kelly always says it as it is. Ms. Ripa does not take prisoners, ”says the publisher's description. "Surprising, sometimes wild, a little shameless and always with humor, Live Wire shows Kelly what she really is off-screen - a very wise woman with something to say."
What does this mean for Kelly's career on Live with Kelly and Ryan? For now, fans can probably assume nothing will change, although it's possible that she may be promoting her book on the show near the release date, April 19, 2022.
However, Kelly told Parade.com last October that at some point she would like to take on more projects behind the studio lighting.
"I've written a lot, so my ultimate goal would be to finally get off the camera and work more in this creative aspect behind the camera because I really enjoy the writing process," she said at the time.
What is she doing at Live? It sounds like her good friend and fellow live cohost Ryan Seacrest.
"I talk to Ryan about it all the time because I really wanted to retire now, but Ryan Seacrest is so great to work with and he's such a good friend," she told the publication. “We've been friends for two decades, and I have to tell you that he's really such a draw for me there. I just enjoy working with him so much. Every day he makes the feeling that I'm not working and then you know that you have a great working relationship. "
