He's not just playing a rugged outdoorsman on TV...
A lot of people just assume Hollywood stars are all pretty soft, and given the images many put up, that seems fair enough. However, there are exceptions like Kevin Costner from the hit TV show Yellowstone. To prove it, Costner, who owns a ranch in Colorado, showed off his custom Toyota Tundra, outfitted for outdoor play.

According to the actor, he cares a lot about what outdoor gear he uses. That's wise, because many people put themselves in dangerous situations by buying anything and just looking at the price tags, and that equipment fails at the worst possible time. Anyway, he settled on a Tundra for his outdoor toy truck and had Complete Customs in McKinney, Texas do the upgrades.
Instead of just picking a few parts from a catalog, Costner actually approached the shop with drawings that he made of what he wanted for his truck. From there Complete Customs made some renders and after they were approved it was time to make the magic happen.
When it comes to driving a pickup truck off-road and into rough terrain, ground clearance is a primary concern. To counter this, the Tundra features 4.5-inch BDS suspension with Fox coilovers and shocks and 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires mounted on 18-inch Method Race wheels are.
Rather than opting for Rock Rails, Costner seemed more concerned about reaching rooftop items and added N-Fab side steps, which makes sense considering he's unlikely to crawl on rocks.

The reason for using a pickup truck instead of an SUV to venture into the great outdoors is to capitalize on the utility of the bed. There are sliding storage boxes in the payload, as well as a Dometic dual-zone cooler to keep groceries, freshly caught fish or whatever nice and cold.
One of the most advanced parts of the build was the two-piece roof rack. It was custom designed and manufactured and then attached to the ARE V Series truck cap. It's long enough to cover not only the bed area but also the cabin, allowing Costner to carry a long canoe, inflatable boat, jerry cans, or any other outdoor gear he wants to take with him
The front and rear bumpers have been custom made from heavy-gauge steel and you'll notice that the front bumper is tapered to avoid tire wear off-road. A Warn winch is mounted on each bumper. The LED light bars and other lighting elements were all sourced from Rigid Industries, making some of the best LED lights out there, but they don't exactly come cheap.
To secure items in the truck while Costner is away enjoying the outdoors, he had two Lock'er Down security safes installed in the cab. One is latched under the rear seats and the other in the center console. Since the truck is used by the actor, his three children and his wife, monitors are mounted in the front headrests, as well as a padded sleeping area for the little ones.
