Kevin Durant: ‘I’ll always be a Warrior in my heart’
It was nothing more than a love feast on Monday between Kevin Durant and his teammates and the coach of his former Warriors as the two teams prepared to face each other at the NBA season opener on Tuesday night.
Durant was on NBC Sports Bay Area's Dubs Talk with Kerith Burke and had nothing but praise for Curry and the Warriors team he took on a year ago. He said he was still in touch with the likes of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
“It's good to see from a distance, to see that everyone is fine, and to realize that these bonds that we have created will never be broken, no matter what jerseys we wear, no matter what part of the Country we all live. From Shaun [Livingston] to Andre [Iguodala], JaVale [McGee], Steph, Klay, Jordan Bell, Omri [Casspi], Nick Young. When you see people you've won a championship with and have had long playoffs with, you have a different connection. I am very grateful for my time in the Bay Area and I will always be a warrior in my heart. "
Curry said Durant got the most out of his game.
Steve Kerr thinks like a coach, and when he saw Durant's tie, who scored 25 points against Boston, he suddenly became concerned (mostly having to play the opener without a green).
A matchup of two teams with potential but health issues will round out the NBA season at 7 Eastern Tuesday Night on TNT (followed by the Clippers at the Lakers).
