Kid Rock addresses the recent news that he used a homophobic slur on stage.
The musician (real name Bob Ritchie) tweeted in third person on Wednesday, repeating the slander when he addressed his behavior at a recent Tennessee performance when he claimed he had "love" for his gay friends.
"If Kid Rock offends the word f-t, you probably are," the 50-year-old tweeted. “Anyway, I know he loves his gay friends very much and I'll talk to him. Have a nice day. -Bob Ritchie. "
Several Twitter users were upset by Rock's post and repeated the malicious word.

“I'm so confused right now. You used your real name to justify the bad behavior of your stage character? ”Wrote one user. "And trot out the old Clanger, 'some of his best friends are gay'. Yeah, I had to google 'Bob Ritchie'.
"Funny how fanatics always claim to have friends, what certain slander they are throwing around with," added another.
Rock's tweet comes days after it was filmed with the F-word to fans to record during his performance at FishLipz Bar & Grill in Smithville, Tennessee. TMZ shared the video.

In 2019, the musician was removed from the stage while performing at the Honky Tonk Bar for berating Oprah Winfrey and Joy Behar. At the time he was captured and said they could "suck a D --- sideways".
Last year, his Nashville bar, Big Honky Tonk & Steakhouse, was suspended for violating coronavirus protocols. And last month, the bar greeted Morgan Wallen in his first public appearance since his arrest with a racist slur in February.
