Kim Kardashian Says Kanye West Helped Her with SKKN Launch: "Give Credit Where Credit Is Due"
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are still a good team.
While sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the launch of SKKN via her Instagram Story, Kardashian opened up about how involved her ex was in the creative process.
"Obviously my creative process would not have been complete without Kanye or Ye — and I always give credit where credit is due — without Kanye or Ye," she said. “He brought his team and introduced me to Willo [Perron, a designer] and came up with the new name. That was actually his idea. The packaging shapes were his and even the fonts he made just like SKIMS.”
Kardashian featured a few different mood boards with images of neutral stone sculptures pinned to them. The various sculptural, abstract pieces served as inspiration for the packaging of her skincare line.
"You should have seen the first boxes," she continued. "When I told you that Kanye came into the room and said, 'It's not that,' and he was right. Packaging is definitely his thing.”
SKKN by KIM, a refillable nine-piece skincare line that officially launched yesterday, follows the reality TV mogul's previous forays into the beauty world with KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance.
"What started as a psoriasis diagnosis became the catalyst for my journey of skincare discovery and inspired me to learn more about my skin and how to care for it," Kardashian said in a release. "Working with some of the best dermatologists and estheticians over the years has given me an incredible opportunity to learn from their expertise - and I knew I had to share my learnings."
Kardashian and West married in 2014, although she officially filed for divorce in 2021. They share four children: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
