Kirk Cameron, former TV star who went on to become a trusted Christian, is usually well placed to make a splash on social media. From the days of the world's saddest birthday to today, Cameron can be counted on to make people talk. Cameron last lit up Twitter after hosting a Christmas carol in Southern California that contradicted state mandates to fight the spread of the coronavirus.
"We will celebrate our God-given freedoms, our constitutional rights at this time of Christmas to sing Christmas carols, to gather, gather, and sing about the birth of our Savior," Cameron said of the mall parking lot event on Instagram .
The Thousand Oaks-based mall quickly rejected the event on Twitter.
Photos and videos of the maskless event spread quickly (no pun intended), and Twitter users were outraged by Cameron's negligence.
Cameron did not respond to the social media coverage.
