Lakers-Wizards reported Russell Westbrook trade shock to Kings

Kings must pick up pieces when going through the Lakers Wizards deal that originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
In the blink of an eye, the Kings switched from a potential trade that rebalances their roster, adds depth, and offers a young advantage, to a franchise that lingers on the altar.
The Athletic's Shams Charania says the Washington Wizards are on the verge of mastering the Kings-Lakers deal that Buddy Hield would have sent to LA for Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, and the No. 22 overall selection in the 2021 NBA Airwind.
Russell Westbrook is said to be on his way to the Lakers and Kuzma, Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and the Pick will be sent to Washington in a blockbuster trade.

Hield was likely already looking at real estate in the Los Angeles area and preparing for his Lakers debut. The Kings thought they had changed their roster hours before the 2021 NBA draft started and made adjustments to their strategy on the fly.
The deal between the Wizards and Lakers has not yet been finalized, but it seems like it is close. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Kings and Lakers are still in communication.
Where do the kings go from here? That's everyone's guess.
General Manager Monte McNair has to pick up the parts quickly, go back on the phone and find a new trading partner in the next few hours and days until the free representation.
The Kings do not work in their current construction and number 9 in the overall standings is not enough to make a significant change in the ranking in the first year.
Hopefully this was one of the few irons in the fire for the Kings going into draft night.
