LeVar Burton Is Ready to Tackle JEOPARDY as Its New Host
Just as no one will ever replace Johnny Carson, no one will ever replace Alex Trebek. But just like The Tonight Show, Jeopardy is royalty on television and someone becomes the permanent host of the legendary game show. Some have guest starred as well, including former champ Ken Jennings and NFL star Aaron Rodgers. But a person as capable as anyone else of filling in the incredibly large shoes left by the late host is apparently not even considered. At least he wasn't ready. We hope this will change soon after LeVar tells Burton that he would like to be Jeopardy's new host.
Star Trek's own Geordi La Forge tweeted a Change.org petition asking him to become the new host on the famous game show. His tweet (which we first saw at Gamespot) also had a simple, direct message for those who have the opportunity to achieve this.
Why didn't they want him? He could be the most perfect person for the job. Not just because he's basically the opposite of Dr. Oz, who inexplicably has already been tapped for a guest host job.

We trust that Burton always knows what's going on and is honest with us. The official petition explains why he should get the job:
“LeVar Burton inspired and shaped the mind after hosting 21 seasons of the educational Reading Rainbow, playing brain engineer Geordi La Forge in Star Trek: the Next Generation, and taking on the role of Kunta Kinte in the increasingly important miniseries Roots of generations from trivia-loving nerds. This petition is designed to show Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. and producers Mike Richards and Harry Friedman how much the public loves Burton and how much we would all love to see him as the next Jeopardy host! "
We couldn't possibly agree more. Burton has proven with Reading Rainbow that he has the gravitas and the skillful touch to run any show. Hopefully he will soon be the answer to Jeopardy's toughest question, how to replace Alex Trebek.
