Well, the two got embroiled in a very random but ultimately nasty feud that weekend. This is what happened:
This week, Lil Nas went on Instagram Live joking about an upcoming collaboration with Boosie.
Lil Nas X says he's working on a song with Boosie.
17:12 - 23 Oct 2021
“So I was working on this song with Boosie, brother. I have this song - it will come out, "said Lil Nas.

Boosie must have learned that Lil Nas said that, as he responded with a disturbing anti-gay tweet. Warning - it uses anti-gay language and mentions suicide:
The tweet was removed from Twitter for breaking the rules, but media screened it.

Yeah, pretty awful. Shortly after, Lil Nas tweeted this, apparently referring to Boosie's comments:
I'm really sad. I've never been so humiliated in my life. I can't believe Disney Channel has yet to play Halloween Town this October.

The controversy eventually sparked some viral reactions on Twitter:
Boosie isn't mad that Lil Nas X is queer. Boosie is pissed off that a queer black rapper is better off than him in an industry that was based on homophobia.

This isn't the first time Boosie has been problematic. Last year he made headlines after doing an anti-trans rant about Zaya Wade, daughter of Dwyane Wade. Mike Tyson ended up calling him on his podcast.

“Who the hell are we to comment on someone else's life? said Mike to Boosie. “What happened to you that you think you are someone who can comment on someone else's life? ... I've noticed about myself, sometimes I have to say: 'Shit, I'm wrong.' "
