On June 22nd, "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda confirmed some fans' fears: "Hamilton" will actually be somewhat censored when it appears on Disney Plus on June 3rd. However, the censorship does not appear to be as extensive as some had thought - according to Miranda, two instances of the F-word have been censored, but selected other curse words have been retained.
After the trailer for the film, which is a professional recording of the stage production, which was cut from three performances of the show in 2016, was released on June 21, a fan tweeted at Miranda and asked, "How ['Hamilton '] PG rated -13 does that mean that some (iconic) lines have been cut? Will it be changed at all? "

1. On July 3rd you will receive the entire show, every note and scene as well as a 1-minute countdown clock during the break (bathroom!).
2. But MPAA has a hard language rule: More than one utterance of "fuck" is an automatic R-rating. We have 3 "fucks" on our show. So...

Miranda made it clear that fans would get "the whole show, grade, and scene," but certain cuts would need to be made to maintain the film's PG-13 rating. "Hamilton" has multiple instances of the word, which meant that at least some had to go.
In a follow-up tweet, Miranda said that he literally "gave two F-Cks so the kids could see it". The texts in question are two pretty iconic lines from the series: Hercules Mulligans "Get the F-CK Up Again" in "Yorktown (The World Upside Down)" and the line "Democratic Republicans of the Southern Mother." "" Washington on your side. "

... I literally gave two fucks so the kids could see it:
1. In Yorktown is muted via "I get the f___ up again".
2. "Southern * record-breaking * related Democratic Republicans."
You can sing whatever you want at home (even sync the album)!
I love you. Enjoy.

According to Miranda's tweet, the first "Get the F-CK back up" is muted, while the second line uses a record scratch to cover up the oath. However, it seems that the line "That was my wife you chose, Fuuuuuu -" in "Say No to This Subject" remains unaffected.

Miranda also confirmed the selection of other curse words that would remain on the show, including "b-astard" (the fourth word of the show's first song) and apparently every instance of the word "sh-t".
