Liverpool release England international Clyne following injury-ravaged spell

Liverpool have announced that England full-back Nathaniel Clyne's contract with the club will not be renewed.
The right-back, who has played 14 caps for his country, will leave Anfield after his current contract expires on June 30 after not playing a single this season.
Clyne came to Liverpool from Southampton in July 2015 for a fee of £ 12.5 million. He signed a five-year contract with the Reds and initially made a very positive impression when he played 52 times in his first season and scored the only goals he would score for the game in a 6-0 game against Crystal Palace and in a 1-0 league cup win over Bournemouth.
The following season he played except for one in all of the club's Premier League games, but injury problems limited him to a handful of appearances in the following years. In the 2018/19 season, he played only four times, including three times as a substitute. Make cameos that lasted less than 10 minutes.
A loan change to Bournemouth was secured and, under the direction of Eddie Howe, he became a regular in the second half of the season when the Cherries ended without relegation. However, he could not regain a place in Anfield and will therefore leave the club.
"Liverpool can confirm that Nathaniel Clyne will leave the club later this month after his contract ends," the Reds said on their website. "Everyone at Liverpool Football Club would like to thank Nathaniel for his service and wish him all the best for his future career."
He will be looking for the fourth club in his career after spending four seasons in the championship with Crystal Palace before moving to the south coast. In Selhurst Park, he played more than 120 times in the league and scored a single goal.
The elected Premier League champion, who could have the title under control if Manchester City should not win against Chelsea on Thursday, also announced the departure of a number of academy players from their ranks.
Dan Atherton, Isaac Christie-Davies, Shamal George, Kai McKenzie-Lyle, Jack Walls, Alex Turner and Abel Rodrigues will leave the team in late June.
