Los Angeles Lakers’ NBA Finals Win on ABC Crushed by ‘Sunday Night Football’ in Early Ratings
ABC's broadcast of the Los Angeles Lakers' victory over the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the 2020 NBA Finals wasn't a game for "Sunday Night Football" on NBC, according to the earliest available Nielsen numbers.
Last night, the Lakers' 106-93 loss to the Heat was 57% lower than the 2019 NBA Final Grand Final when the Toronto Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors. Of course, Game 6, which aired in June, wasn't against the NFL.
Due to the nature of live television, the following data for ABC, NBC and CBS should be viewed as being significantly adjusted when the final numbers are available later on Monday.

NBC was first in ratings with a rating of 2.7 / 15 in the advertiser's coveted 18-49 demographics and in total viewers averaging 10.1 million according to preliminary figures. After the pre-game show, the Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks game began at 8:30 p.m. and got a rating of 3.2 and 11.4 million viewers.
ABC finished second with 1.9 / 10 and third with 5.1 million viewers. At 7pm, the pregame show "NBA Countdown" had 1.4 / 8 and 4.4 million viewers. The NBA final game itself begins at 7:30 p.m. ET averaged 2.1 / 11 and 5.6 million viewers. At 10:30 pm, “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night” reached 0.8 / 5 and 2.5 million viewers.
CBS took third place with 1.7 / 9 and second place with 8.8 million viewers. After an NFL overflow "60 minutes" at 8pm. drew 1.2 / 6 and 9.5 million viewers. At 9 p.m. a special “60 Minutes Presents” reached 0.5 / 3 and 4.3 million viewers. The 1995 film "Ahnungslos" was broadcast at 10 pm. with 0.4 / 2 and 2 million viewers by the end of prime time.

Fox and Telemundo took fourth place with 0.4 / 2. Fox was fourth with 1.2 million viewers and Telemundo fifth with 1.130 million.
For Fox after repeating back-to-back “The Simpsons” at 8pm. had 0.5 / 2 and 1.3 million viewers. At 8:30 pm "Bless the Harts" decided for 0.4 / 2 and 1 million viewers. "Bob's Burgers" at 9pm took 0.5 / 2 and 1.3 million viewers. At 9:30 pm, “Family Guy” ended the program block with 0.6 / 3 and 1.4 million viewers.
Univision took sixth place with 0.3 / 2 and sixth place with 1.124 million viewers.
The CW took seventh place in the ratings with 0.1 / 0 and in the audience with 440,000. According to local programming, a new episode of "Pandora" will appear at 8pm. managed 0.1 / 0 and 429,000 spectators. An encore followed.
