Lou Ferrigno Sr. Shares His No-Nonsense Chest and Arms Workout

Lou Ferrigno Sr. is one of the most iconic names in bodybuilding. If he's talking about gym etiquette, you should probably listen. His first lesson for the MH crew: don't be a batsman and sacrifice a good form of training for heavier weights.
"I've seen people pick up 50-pound dumbbells, swing them, or drop them because they want to make an impression," he says. “You don't want me to be angry - and you won't like it when I'm angry because you don't want me to be the incredible Hulk! So make sure you get it right. ”For anyone who never paid attention to superheroes before the MCU, the final piece wasn't just a pop culture reference. Before Mark Ruffalo (and Edward Norton and Eric Bana) went green, Ferrigno was the actor most people associated with the Hulk, playing the angrier side of Bruce Banner for a television series that ran from 1977 to 1982.
Prior to his superhero role, Ferrigno won two Mr. Universe titles and played a major role in the legendary muscle head documentary Pumping Iron. The 69-year-old star is also the proud father of Lou Ferrigno Jr., a native actor who appeared in Stargirl and S.W.A.T. and upholds the family tradition of staying puffy. But that's not because Lou Sr. Jr. sat down and made him hit the weights. "I know it has to come from him," said Ferrigno Sr. Men's Health in a conversation about parenting. "I never wanted to force the training."
But that doesn't mean that Ferrigno Sr. still doesn't have time in the gym. He led the MH crew through a normal torso, chest and arm gap and proved that he still has amazing strength and motivation to exercise. When he's in a weight room, Ferrigno Sr. is not there to fool around. "I'm not in a bar. I'm not in a nightclub. I'm not on a boardwalk. I'm in a gym," he says. "The gym is where you put your body in order, get in shape, and take care of yourself."
You should probably take him seriously and follow his advice to spend your time in the gym wisely. You won't like him when he's angry.
