The Cadillac nameplate comes with a certain level of admiration for its exceptionally large and luxurious contributions to the automotive community.
Cadillac has always been known for its gigantic luxury cars like El Dorados and Devilles. However, with the introduction of the third generation Fleetwood model in 1971, it reached a high point in the production of cars of gigantic proportions and luxury. At a time when other manufacturers were focusing on fuel economy and looking for ways to make their vehicles more compact, Cadillac expanded the Fleetwood's wheelbase to 130 inches and fitted it with one of the largest engines available. With the choice between a 472-cid (7.7-liter) or a 500-cid (8.2-liter) engine, soft upholstery and the most luxurious ever built in an American car, the Fleetwood continues to offer the best driving experience the whole generation.
The top trim line for the Fleetwood model came with the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. As Cadillac's best optional model, the Brougham had crowded seating for four, a wood-grain interior, and most of the performance and comfort features available to American cars in the 1970s. With its laser-like focus on design and comfort, the Brougham line was for those Cadillac buyers who want the very best.
This one has the 472ci V8 7.7 liter engine and only has 60,000 miles on the clock and is from the East Coast collection where it has been for the past 7 years. It has the original Cotillion White paint, blue interior and an all-white padded vinyl roof. The Talisman Package option added four seats in Medici crush velor, full-length center consoles with writing sets in the front and rear vanity units, back seat pockets, adjustable passenger seat, special turbine wheel covers, auxiliary belts, high-pile carpeting and an opening hood ornament.
