"The only reason I sold the house was because we were broke," admitted Friday, June 40th.
"Because you know at this point that we did quite a bit," June said he was taking drugs with his friend Eugene Edward "Geno" Doak. "I mean, it was a couple of ounces a day."

When June considered her decision to take drugs, she said that she "came up because I wanted to".
"It wasn't something that was just starting and oh my god, I started taking drugs. You found out that I broke. It wasn't like that. I got high because I wanted to," she said to Pumpkin. "It's not the first time I've been using drugs, and you know that."
But for Pumpkin: "It is the first time since we are older that you have ever been lined up."
"The thing is, you can't get clean and then Geno doesn't get clean," said Pumpkin.
The June relationship with daughters Lauryn and Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson has been tense since she was arrested in March 2019 for possession of a controlled substance and drug supplies after allegedly carrying crack cocaine and a crack pipe.
Doak was also arrested and charged with third-degree domestic violence, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were charged with crimes in September. June assured her daughter that she had been clean for the past few months. "And I promise you, I would say that we have been 90 percent good in the past few months. If it had been four or five months ago, I would have been as high as f when I got in here." She said.
Although Pumpkin was "glad" that her mother was not tall when she met, she said she was "done" with Geno.
"I got to the point where I was done with it," she said. "Because I don't like how he treated you."
"I don't even honestly understand why you're still with him," she said to her mother. "He made you dirty as if he had come into the house and then it was as if he was pushing me out."

While June acknowledged that Geno "made a few mistakes and I was standing next to him," she couldn't explain why she was still with him.

June shook her head and said, "I don't know."
