Man Charged After Attacking Two Asian American Women With CEMENT BLOCK in Baltimore

A man in West Baltimore was arrested and charged after attacking two Asian American women with a cement block on Sunday.

The incident, recorded on video, happened before 11 p.m. at the Wonderland Liquor Store on the 2000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. on May 2nd.

The female shop workers closed the shop when the suspect attacked them, according to police.

The video shows the suspect with a cement block with which he beats the helpless women.

The women try to fend off the suspect for about two and a half minutes, first in the shop and then in front of the shop.

The suspect, identified as 50-year-old Daryl Doles, escaped the scene but was arrested shortly afterwards. According to the WBFF, he was charged with two serious assaults.

Fortunately, the victims' injuries were not life threatening.

"Both tried to fend off him, but were unfortunately overwhelmed," wrote John Yun on a donation page.

He identified the Korean women as his mother and aunt.

"My aunt handled the attack the worst with over 25 stitches on the head and black eyes. But we're relieved that both CT scans came back well and were discharged hours later."

The video shows Yun's aunt, who first falls victim to the unprovoked attack. His mother steps in and is next targeted.

Yun is confused about the attack because they have been in the community for a long time.

“It doesn't make sense why they come here to make a living and be treated like this in a community they should embrace because we've been here for over 20 years. We are part of this community. He said to WJZ.

Yun set up a GoFundMe page to help his mom and aunt get invoices. At the time of this writing, he has raised more than $ 36,000 from his $ 25,000 goal.

"I admire the bravery and courage of these two women and am incredibly proud of them. Their physical wounds will eventually heal, but the trauma of this attack will take more time," he added.
