Mark Cuban shares photo of Delonte West's 'first steps' on road to recovery

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban personally picked up former Delonte West last month to help out the former NBA player after being seen panhandling. Now he shares the "first steps" on the way from West back to his family and through a rehabilitation program.
The Cuban shared a photo on Twitter on Friday showing horse riding in the west and realized that there is still a long way to go. "But he took the first steps and shared them with all of us as a thank you for the love and support."
West, who played in the NBA from 2004 to 2012, was spotted panhandling in the Dallas area in late September.

The Cuban contacted West's mother, Delphina Addison, to see how he can help after photos of West spread on social media.
According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the answer was to find the 37-year-old West. The Cuban found him on September 29th and waited with West until Addison could reach them via Charania. Then he helped the former first round player to enter a rehab facility.
West mainly played for the Boston Celtics, who designed him in 24th place overall in the 2004 NBA draft. He last played for the Mavericks in 2012, but was suspended twice and waived. He averaged 9.7 points and 3.6 assists over the course of his career.
He announced that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2008 and has struggled with it for the past few years. He pleaded guilty to two gun charges in 2010 and has been implicated in other incidents since leaving the league.
In January, former teammates and fans showed support for West after he was attacked in the middle of a Washington, DC street. He comes from the district.
