Matt Gaetz’s Tweet About Defunding FBI Lasted Less Than A Minute Online
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) Tweeted on Wednesday about the defusion of the FBI and then seemed to rethink it.
The Florida Republican deleted a post about the agency investigating him less than a minute after he went online.
"If Democrats want to disappoint the police, they should start with the FBI," wrote Gaetz, reported ProPublica.
A spokesman for Gaetz told Vice News that he explained the deletion of the post and that he “thought it appropriate to remove a joking tweet from a speech some time ago”.
Gaetz, who is considering running for presidency in 2024 if ex-President Donald Trump isn't in the running, is reportedly under investigation in a state sex trafficking investigation.
He denies all allegations and claims it was part of a blackmail plan against him.
