Matthew McConaughey's Reaction to the Shooting in His Texas Hometown Speaks Directly to Republicans

The mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas hit Matthew McConaughey — it's the town he grew up in gun control.
The 52-year-old actor didn't name the Republicans, but if you read between the lines, it feels like he's addressing the GOP. McConaughey was considering running for Texas governor late last year, so his testimony doesn't feel like it's from left field — it feels like he's testing the waters again. Because Republican politicians often lean heavily on the Second Amendment, he pointed out that "we are not responsible for the rights that our liberty affords us."
