McDonalds customer spits at 1 employee, shoots another during pick-up window argument: Police

A customer at a McDonald's in Georgia was arrested after allegedly spat at an employee and shot another during an argument at the pickup window.
The incident occurred around 9:11 p.m. On Thursday, June 10, the suspect, who was later identified as Devonte Watts, 26, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, stopped outside a McDonald's restaurant on U.S. Highway 129 North, about 90 miles northeast of Atlanta, and drove on after ordering something to eat, the Jefferson Police Department said in a statement on social media.

At some point there was a dispute between Watts and the employee who took his order, and when the customer pulled up his car in front of the pick-up window, authorities said he allegedly spat on the employee.
But the incident was not over yet.

"The employee went outside to confront the customer," said the Jefferson Police Department. “The argument continued, and when the customer drove away, he fired a shot at the employee. The bullet actually hit a second employee who had gone outside with the first employee to defuse the situation. "
The employee who was shot in the confrontation was immediately taken to a hospital and treated there for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene.

In an update released less than 24 hours after the shooting, the Jefferson Police Department said Watts had been arrested and he is now on multiple charges, including serious battery, assault, possession of a gun by a convicted felon and Possessing a firearm while committing a crime.
"We would like to thank all of the agencies who assisted us with this incident, including the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Bureau of Investigations, Gainesville Police Department, and Hall County Sheriff’s Office," said Jefferson Police Department.
