Meek Mill Apologizes to Vanessa Bryant After Kobe Bryant Name Drop
Meek Mill has apologized privately via a leaked Kobe Bryant lyric and apologized privately.
On February 23, the rapper went on Twitter again while dropping a Kobe name on his unreleased song. While the line first sparked criticism almost a week ago, the late basketball legend's widow, Vanessa Bryant, publicly phoned him on Monday, February 22nd.
"I apologized to her in private earlier today, not in public," said the rapper "Dreams and Nightmares" in a tweet on February 23. "Nothing I say on my side that targets a viral moment on the internet or the family of a grieving woman! If you're caring for someone who is grieving, change the subject!"
Although Meek said he wouldn't respond to the "viral moment," he tweeted earlier that day, "I don't think we're on the same signal. I don't understand what you're seeing." .. i look at the net laughing like i did ... i randomly say s - t on social all day ... it becomes a trend to hate me from time to time but i feed on this s - t I'm literally a beast. He followed up this tweet by saying, "Ima stay on this 100-meter chase to feed the kids. Ima emerges from the crowd and stays in the VIP."
For those who missed it, Vanessa caught the wind off the line - where Meek raps, "Yeah, and if I ever miss it I'll go out with my helicopter, it's from another Kobe" - and went to one her Instagram story message for Meek.

"Dear @meekmill, I find this line extremely insensitive and disrespectful," she wrote. "Period. I don't know any of your music, but I think you can do better. If you're a fan, there's a better way to show your admiration for my husband. He lacks respect and tact."
Kobe died along with his and Vanessa's 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people in a tragic helicopter crash on January 26, 2020.
