A pastor at the Georgia megachurch caught coronavirus just days after attending a White House Christmas party.
Jentezen Franklin of the Free Chapel in Gainsville was absent on Sunday after testing positive for the disease, said colleague Pastor Javon Ruff.
"We would like to draw your attention to the fact that Pastor Franklin came into contact with Covid, but he is doing perfectly well," Ruff told the congregation, according to local media reports.
He added, "He's really fine. He got tested and his test came back positive, so he's doing the right thing and staying in quarantine and remaining aloof.
"We will keep praying and lifting him up."
Mr. Ruff also announced that the church's Christmas Eve service is being held practically "out of caution".
The video shows at least 100 people, many of whom were not wearing masks.
Six days ago, Mr Franklin posted a photo of himself and his daughter at the White House on Instagram.
"Thanks @flotus and @realdonaldtrump for the invitation. It was wonderful! Merry Christmas everyone!" he wrote in a message accompanying the post.
There is no evidence that Mr Franklin was infected with coronavirus at the White House party.
The coronavirus continues to sweep large parts of the United States.
According to the New York Times, health officials reported 179,801 new infections nationwide and 1,422 deaths in the last 24 hours on December 20.
In Georgia, where Mr. Franklin preaches, there have been 5,175 new cases and two deaths, the data shows.
