Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Were Photographed Preparing Meals With an Incredible L.A. Organization

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to give something back to their church in Los Angeles.
On Tuesday, June 23, the former senior royals spent the afternoon cooking and preparing meals with Homeboy Industries, an organization dedicated to the rehabilitation of former gang members and the improvement of their lives.
According to its website, Homeboy Industries offers "training and support for former gangs and previously detained men and women so they can realign their lives and become contributing members of society."
"THANKS to Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, for their visit yesterday," the organization tweeted on June 24, along with some images courtesy of the Royals. "Our Bakery & Café teams were thrilled to have worked with us on #FeedHOPE in Los Angeles."

According to a Twitter thread by royal reporter Omid Scobie, the Sussexes have recently become more involved in the organization through the man who runs Homeboy Industries, Father George Boyle.
Markle reportedly met Father Boyle during a Tamales making workshop she attended with her mother Doria Ragland 20 years ago. Scobie also shared a statement from a representative for the royal couple, claiming that the Duke and Duchess were “deeply connected to the organization's mission,” and described their work as “a perfect example of how empathy, kindness, and compassion can change the world ”.

"I wasn't sure what to say to you. I wanted to say the right thing. And I was really nervous that I wouldn't do it or that it would be taken apart, and I realized that saying the only wrong thing is nothing to say, "Markle began her speech in early June. "Because George Floyd's life was important and Breonna Taylor's life was important and Philando Castile's life was important and Tamir Rice's life was important and so many other people whose names we know and whose names we don't know. Stephon Clark. His life important. "
"This is something incredibly personal for Meghan, especially given all of her experiences," a source said to Scobie at the time. "And of course it's very important as a couple. Both feel it, just like the rest of us."
