To mark the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex chatted via video with comedian Melissa McCarthy about her new 40 × 40 initiative with the nonprofit Archewell. Markle will ask 40 art, activism, sports, and politics friends, including Amanda Gorman, Adele, Stella McCartney, and Gloria Steinem, to donate 40 minutes of their time to help 40 women re-enter the world of work. "I hope that with that time they will each help someone move on to a career on their own terms, and I hope that they inspire countless others to also devote 40 minutes to their time," Markle said in a statement. The occasion came as a surprise when McCarthy humorously tried to guess her birthday plans - from a yacht party to matching BFF tattoos - but immediately agreed to help. The video even featured a humorous cameo following the announcement of Markle's husband Prince Harry juggling in front of her window. You can watch the video and read Markle's full explanation on the Archewell website.

Markle wore chic white lounge pants with a matching tank top and a cream colored sweater and stayed true to her penchant for streamlined silhouettes. The "Suits" star also wore two gold Logan Hollowell necklaces as a cute tribute to her two children Archie and Lilibet. Each piece was adorned with a delicate diamond constellation pendant, a bull (for Archie) and a twin (for Lilibet). She complemented the duo with a gold Cartier watch.
The former actress completed her ensemble with brown pointed suede pumps by Manolo Blahnik. The BB style is one of her favorite pairs that she has also worn several times in black suede. The shoes featured 4-inch heels with a padded footbed, which gives the look a comfortable and classic touch. Markle's pumps are priced at $ 665 on Saksfifthavenue.com.

When it comes to fashion, the Duchess prefers to keep her wardrobe chic and classic. Most of their ensembles feature pieces in tonal and neutral hues from luxurious contemporary labels, including Victor Glemaud, Anne Bing and Hugo Boss. Markle's shoes follow a similar formula and keep their look streamlined with sharp silhouettes in soft colors. Pointed toe pumps are her trademark and come from labels such as Aquazzura, Sarah Flint and Jennifer Chamandi. Her casual looks include flats and mules from Birdies, Chloe Gosselin and Valentino - although she also likes white sneakers from Nike and Adidas.
