Meghan McCain Blames ‘Hostility’ From Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar for ‘View’ Exit
Meghan McCain speaks in a new audio memory about her life, which Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar blame directly for their exit from "The View".
Listening to the audio book "Bad Republican" exclusively, Fox News reported Tuesday that McCain said in it that the two co-hosts showed "toxic, direct, and purposeful hostility" towards her and became "meaner and less forgiving". so the administration of former President Donald Trump went on, "as if I had become an avatar for everything they hated about the president".
She added that their behavior was made worse by the fact that they had seen firsthand Trump attacking McCain and her family, particularly pursuing the late Senator John McCain during his lifetime and after his death.
McCain said Goldberg had shown her "open contempt" for what didn't do her job well: "Once she turns you on, it can create inscrutable tension at the table."
The Conservative commenter pointed to certain moments when she felt embarrassed or depressed on the show, including the moment in January when Behar told her she hadn't missed her at all during her maternity leave. McCain said she felt like she had been "hit" on Fox News and cried during the next commercial break. When the show ended, she cried again and then vomited, then decided that "this sh- ain't worth it".
She left the show in August and has been a columnist for Daily Mail Online ever since. A representative from "The View" did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Read Fox News' full exclusivity on their audio memoirs here.
