Meghan McCain calls motherhood 'euphoria' in heartfelt post: 'I only wish I had done this sooner'
Meghan McCain enjoys the "euphoria" of motherhood. In an emotional post on Instagram, The View co-host explained how her newborn daughter changed her life - including by helping to fill the void left by her late father, John McCain.
"All of the clichés have been fulfilled and far exceeded my wildest expectations," wrote McCain, who gave birth to daughter Liberty Sage McCain Domenech on September 28th. “It is hands down the best thing I have ever done in my life and I am in complete awe of our daughter. Having freedom is like watching my whole heart live and existing outside of my body. "

McCain called her little girl a "little wildcat" who is "beautiful, strong" and "already so full of life and spirit".
"I just wish I had done this sooner," she continued. “Thanks to my dear Ben for giving me this gift and for taking the plunge into this wonderful and petrifying adventure together. I love our little family and have never felt so blessed, present and grateful. This is the first time since my dad that the part of my heart that broke off and left with him doesn't feel missed anymore. "
The late Senator John McCain died of brain cancer on August 25, 2018. The TV personality often remembers him on social media and last month wrote how she wakes up and misses him every day.
"Thank you to everyone who respected my protection, boundaries, and privacy during pregnancy and are now taking their first steps towards motherhood," McCain continued. “I know it's unorthodox given the public life I've chosen. It's all in the works and I will keep sharing what I can as I (and Ben) are comfortable. "
Part of the reason McCain said she and her husband Ben Domenech keep their trip private is because of the toxicity she experiences on social media.
“Given that people write on photos I've taken of my family, they're glad my dad has cancer and he's in Hell. I thought I was taking my unborn child out of the as much as possible Leave social media sewer, "wrote the talk show host in May.
"I believe children have a right to privacy and hope that all of you will understand if we control this as much as possible without compromising our comfort or safety," she added. “A bunch of inhuman jackass has really ruined so much for so many on social media, and I've learned many hard lessons about cruelty that comes with being open and vulnerable to my personal life during my father's cancer battle be. It's a shame."
Fortunately, most of the comments on McCain's Thursday maternity post are all good.
