The hypercar Mercedes-AMG Project One was caught on public roads and looked as ready for production as a prototype can. Thanks to a hybrid powertrain based on a turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 engine with a speed of 11,000 rpm, the new electrified flagship should produce at least 1,100 hp.
This prototype is shown here in its tamer, slow mode (wings retracted, front aero panels closed) and has most of the parts required for street legal, such as B. the final lighting elements and the body. Underneath, the Project One packs a hybrid powertrain that is similar (but not identical) to the one under the bonnet of a Formula 1 car. It's been scaled back from racing spec for cost, emissions, and durability reasons, but it's a dazzling piece of engineering nonetheless.
This is a car with a lot of big numbers, but there is one that isn't that impressive: 275. That's the number of Project Ones Mercedes-AMG will build. At this point, everyone was reportedly spoken to as well. So if you're not in line (hey, we're only guessing), this is one you need to appreciate from afar. We expect Mercedes-Benz to announce an official delivery schedule soon.
