Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's former personal attorney and fixer, suggested that Mary Trump could backfire her uncle's "ridiculous" lawsuit by getting him to testify.
The former president has sued his niece, the New York Times, and three reporters for $ 100 million for investigating his tax records.
"If I were Mary Trump and her lawyer, I would turn around and say don't fight it, just answer the complaint and look for evidence, let's look for discovery," Cohen said while appearing on MSNBC on Saturday.
“Because one thing is certain, and I've read dozens of statements from Donald Trump, they are the stupidest written paper you have ever seen. Nothing makes sense.
Michael Cohen said he was currently in a lawsuit against the Trump organization and asked for statements from Trump, which his lawyers have declined.
“They firmly believe that they don't want him to testify because he doesn't know what he's talking about. Even when it actually comes down to him, he's absolutely clueless and lies so much that he doesn't even care remind." the lies he told yesterday, "Cohen said.
Michael Cohen is currently under house arrest as he is serving the final months of a three-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to multiple crimes in 2018.
Trump's lawsuit against Mary Trump revolves around the New York Times' 18-month investigation into Trump's finances, which won a Pulitzer Prize.
The lawsuit alleges that the newspaper convinced Mary Trump to "smuggle records out of her law firm and hand them over to the Times," in breach of a confidentiality agreement.
Mary Trump, an outspoken critic of her uncle, said her uncle was a "bloody loser" for suing her.
"It's desperation. The walls are approaching and he throws whatever sticks against the wall. As always with Donald, he'll try to change the subject," she said.
