Mike Pence Heckled As A 'Traitor' On Stage At Conservative Summit

Former Vice President Mike Pence was greeted coolly by some as he took the stage at the Faith and Freedom Coalition's annual conference on Friday.
There were some cheers, but Pence was also harassed by viewers repeating criticism received from former President Donald Trump.
"It is great to be back with so many patriots who are committed to the faith, freedom and the path to majority," said Pence at the beginning of his address at the Orlando, Florida event.
Then there were several loud calls: "Traitor!"
Some people yelling at Pence were escorted from the venue while others walked alone, according to Washington Post reporter Dave Weigel.
The Faith and Freedom Coalition, which calls itself the Christian Conservative grassroots group, holds a conference every year. Speakers at this year's event include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Pence's star has fallen in the MAGA world since the January 6th Uprising in the U.S. Capitol. Trump notoriously urged his vice president to disrupt the official certification of the 2020 presidential election, which Trump lost during a rally near the White House. Crowds of people broke into the building.
Some rioters who stormed the Capitol called for pence to be hanged, and gallows were erected in front of the building.
Trump had previously indicated that it would be treason if Pence didn't stop certifying Joe Biden's victory. He also used his time on stage at the rally in January to call on his supporters to "fight like hell".
Following the deadly riot, the Washington Post reported that Trump was angry and refused to speak to Pence.
In early June, Pence told a crowded New Hampshire crowd that he had spoken to Trump "many times since we left office".
"I don't know if we'll ever agree that day," said Pence. "But I will always be proud of what we have achieved for the American people over the past four years."
