Mindy Kaling Surprises ‘Late Show’ Viewers With Delightful Baby News
Mindy Kaling had a surprise announcement for viewers of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Thursday night.
The actress announced that she gave birth to her second child, Spencer, on September 3, after successfully keeping her pregnancy a secret throughout the coronavirus pandemic - despite being photographed by the paparazzi at one point.
"This is the first time I'm telling you. It feels so strange," Kaling said to host Stephen Colbert. "This is news to a lot of people, that's true."
"There was so much going on and so much heartbreak in the world that it was weird getting out of my way and shedding light on some huge health information," Kaling said.
The "Late Night" star also shared how her eldest daughter, Katherine, who is almost three years old, has treated a new sibling.

Kaling, who is publicly unmarried, has not disclosed the paternity of a child.
"I have a feeling that until I talk to my daughter [about her father], I won't talk to anyone else about it," she told the New York Times in 2019.
