MLB rumors: Cubs free agent Tyler Chatwood agrees to terms with Blue Jays
Chatwood agrees to sign a deal with Blue Jays that originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
About an hour after news of Jon Lester being sent to the Nationals, another pitcher from the 2020 rotation of the Cubs reportedly agreed to a new contract.
Tyler Chatwood signs with the Blue Jays until Jon Heyman first reported on it from an MLB physical network. Sportsnet's Shi Davidi said both sides are on a $ 3 million one-year deal, but with incentives, Chatwood could make up to $ 5.5 million.

The right-hander started the 2020 season with just one run in his first two games together. But soon injuries and discrepancies plagued the starting pitcher. After the season he became a free agent.
Chatwood's three seasons with the Cubs have been a roller coaster ride. In 2018, he took the National League for walks. The next year he seemed to gain a foothold as a helper.
He earned a spot at the back of the rotation in spring training last season. A combination of José Quintana's thumb injury, Lester's slow progression in form, and Chatwood's effective approach to the pre-summer camp break put him in third place on the rotation in the opening week.
Due to an injury, Chatwood started just five times in 2020 and posted an ERA of 5.30, which was the same as his 2018 ERA.
