Mom dies in road-rage shooting with her young daughters in the car, Texas family says

An apparent traffic incident in Texas killed a woman and a 14-year-old in critical condition, police said.
Around 9:30 p.m. Friday, two cars pulled up on I-35 near an apartment complex in San Antonio after an argument, KABB reported.
A driver got out and started shooting the other car, San Antonio police said.
The other driver tried to escape the gunfire but hit a fence. KENS reported that she and a 14-year-old were shot, police said.
A 7-year-old in the car was not injured, according to KABB.
The 38-year-old woman died in a hospital and the teenager is in critical condition, according to KENS, police said.
Family members identified the woman as Lucia Mendoza, KSAT reported. Mendoza's brother, Jesus Vega, told the outlet that Mendoza was walking home from a shopping trip with her two daughters at the time of the incident.
He told the 7-year-old from KSAT Mendoza that he had tried to ask family members for help.
“She was like, 'Help, help! Mom needs help! Sister too! You need help, ”he said via KSAT. "She was scared. Now she knows that she basically saw her mother die before her."
Authorities said the other driver fled the scene before the police arrived, KENS reported.
They are looking for a "brown suburban vehicle," according to the sales point.
The police have not made any arrests, KENS reported.
