'Mrs. Doubtfire' Star Lisa Jakub Expertly Answers What 'Happened To Her' Question
Lisa Jakub, a writer and former child actress who played Lydia in the comedy "Mrs. Doubtfire ”had a perfect answer to a headline asking what“ happened ”to her since the film was released in 1993: a lot of stuff, duh.
On Friday, the author and mental wellness coach shared a screenshot of an article on the Nicki Swift entertainment site entitled, "What happened to the actor who plays Lydia in Mrs. Doubtfire?"
"Well, um, I mean, a lot has happened since 1993, so you need to be more specific," Jakub tweeted in response.
The author later tweeted a follow-up, saying that one of her books, "You Look Like That Girl: A Child Actor Stops Pretending and Eventually Grows Up", was why after an 18 year career she chose to do the To give up acting.
Jakub has used Twitter to answer questions about her life since she appeared in “Mrs. Doubtfire ”alongside the late Robin Williams, Sally Field, Pierce Brosnan, Mara Wilson and Matthew Lawrence.
Last November, she gave an overview of some of the highlights of her life - and a hint of her skills as a burrito producer - since the film premiered.
“I played 8 more years, retired from acting, left LA, married the best man, went to college, published [two] books, became a mental health advocate, did a yoga program for Vets started [and] now I'm making a burrito, ”she wrote.
In 2018, Jakub joined some of her castmates to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the release of “Mrs. Doubt. "She paid tribute to Williams, who played her nanny disguised as an older disguise in the film.
"One of the most powerful things for me about working with him is that he was very open and honest with me and talked about his problems with addiction, depression, and that was so powerful for me when I was 14," she said.
