MyKayla Skinner Gets Last Olympic Chance And She Has Message For Simone Biles
MyKayla Skinner is back and more grateful than ever.
The US gymnast, who had not qualified for an individual tournament in qualifying for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, learned on Saturday that she would replace Simone Biles in the vault at the apparatus final.
And she had a message for the four-time gold medalist who was eliminated from the team and all-round events - and then two individual events - due to psychological concerns and a case of "twisties".
“Looks like I can have another match with Leo. I can't wait to get into the vault finals, ”Skinner, 24, wrote on Instagram. "Do this for us @simonebiles."
Skinner had the fourth highest score in the jump during qualifying. She is accompanied by the American Jade Carey, who had the second highest score.
Just a few days ago, Skinner was sitting in the stands with Biles to watch teammate Sunisa Lee win gold in the all-around event. Skinner thought their Olympics were over.

And now she has another chance.
Smash that vault, MyKayla!
