Newsmax host Grant Stinchfield says he is fighting "lively" Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics and was even "happy" to see the US men's basketball team lose this week.
In a section titled "The Olympics Woke Up," Stinchfield talked about the men's 83-76 loss to France in basketball and the women's 3-0 loss to Sweden.
"Not only did I defend myself against Megan Rapinoe and her cheerful gang of anti-American soccer players, but I was happy about the men's basketball team's first loss since 2004," he said, calling the men's basketball loss "embarrassing". "
“The collection of tearful, overpaid social justice fighters is very difficult to find. The team is full of hymn-throwers and I find it ironic that they are ready to take the US to their chests, but in the not too distant past they'd be kneeling for the hymn, "he added, referring to the number of NBA- Players and US women soccer players who kneeled before matches to protest racial inequality.
Stinchfield is not the first right-wing commentator or politician to criticize US athletes for taking political positions or supporting liberal policies. Former President Donald Trump made a similar statement at a rally in Phoenix where he said "Americans are happy" that the US women's soccer team has lost.
