O'Rourke slams 'jokers' for passing voting limits in Texas

"Those Jokers can't even run the lights or the heat or the water when the temperature drops in Texas. Now they want to take over our elections?" O'Rourke said during an electoral rally in Austin, Texas.
He added, "They are trying to stop more people from voting in a state that is already the most difficult in America to vote in."
Texas on Friday, along with other Republican-controlled states, pushed ahead with a series of new electoral restrictions, defied opposition from many state corporations, and fueled a heated national debate over voting rights.
The Austin State House of Representatives gave preliminary approval to the legislation on Friday after hours of debate, before final approval was largely partisan.
Members of the House and Senate who passed their own voting-restriction bill last month will now work to reconcile the two bills before sending a final version to Republican Governor Greg Abbott, who announced that he will sign it.
Other states, including Georgia and Florida, have also introduced Republican-backed voting restrictions after former Republican President Donald Trump falsely claimed that his loss to Democrat Joe Biden in last year's presidential election was the result of massive electoral fraud.
