Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo has continued to develop her style since her debut album "Sour" was released in May this year. The teen star began her career on Disney's Bizaardvark and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Making the transition from Disney to growing up isn't easy. It seemed like Rodrigo was using her red carpet walk at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures to open the gala to make a statement about how she is growing up.
The 18-year-old wore an elegant, strapless dress by Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, which made Rodrigo's shoulders and plunging neckline the star of the piece. The dress also had a thigh-high slit, but the best part? It has pockets:

She wore the dress with a pair of open toe straps and had a loose updo with wavy long bangs that framed her face, which was done in subtle makeup except for the bold red lips.

Jointly co-directed by director Ava DuVernay, TV producer Ryan Murphy and Jason Blum of Blumhouse Production, the opening gala was an opportunity for stars to gather to celebrate the long-awaited opening of the Academy Museum, designed by famed architect Renzo Piano was designed. The evening honored Sophia Loren and filmmaker Haile Gerima and thanked stars who helped raise money for the building, such as Tom Hanks.
Rodrigo's first single, "Drivers License," was released in January and became a hit on TikTok before cementing its influence on the music with mainstream success. Rodrigo may be young, but she's already thinking about the future and how our current culture deals with female pop stars.
"I find it really strange that women can only be pop stars for a limited time, you know what I mean?" She said in an interview with GQ in August. “I have a feeling that men can make music and be successful and popular until you're super old, but I feel like women, once you turn 30 it's hard to get people's attention. But hopefully I'll still bring out music that I like and that other people like. I've always wanted to be a songwriter who also writes songs for others. "
