Packers elevate veteran DL, help at RB from practice squad for Week 16
The Green Bay Packers reinforced the roster with help along the defensive line and in the runback to Sunday's showdown with the Tennessee Titans.
The Packers upgraded defenseman Brian Price, leaving Dexter Williams on the schedule for week 16 from the training team.
Price, who originally signed with the Packers as a vacant free agent in 2016, returned to Green Bay on December 15 with a deal for the training team. He has played in 22 NFL career games, but none since 2018. Price will join Anthony Rush as reserve defenders behind Kenny Clark, Kinsley Keke, Dean Lowry and Tyler Lancaster. The position group has a great task ahead of it. Derrick Henry and the Titans play towards Green Bay on Sunday night.
Williams received its third survey of the season. Previously, he was kicked off the training team by the Packers to defeat the Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers. On November 5, he injured his knee in San Francisco and ended up in an injured reserve. The Packers' sixth round of 2019 was played twice for eight yards against the 49ers and has seven carry for 19 yards in its two-year NFL career. He gets deep behind Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon with Jamaal Williams (Quad) doubts he will play against the Titans.
The teams can get up to two players from the training team each week. Players can only increase twice per season with no COVID-19 replacement increases. After the game, they return to the training team.
Williams was raised once as a COVID-19 replacement (versus 49ers). This is his second elevation from the training team, which means he cannot be increased this season.
