Packers QB Aaron Rodgers finishes fifth in Pro Bowl votes from fans
Only four players received more Pro Bowl votes than Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
According to the NFL, Rodgers finished fifth in the fan poll, just behind Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, Tennessee Titans, Chiefs Tight End's Derrick Henry and Travis Kelce.
Rodgers received 309,311 votes, or about 30,000 less than Mahomes, his main competition for MVP.
For 15 weeks, Rodgers leads the NFL on touchdown passes (40) and pass rating (118.0). Despite his numbers and the Packers' success, Wilson was the leading voter among the NFC quarterbacks.
The fan vote ended on December 17th and makes up a third of the voting process for the Pro Bowl. Coaches and players will also vote on Pro Bowlers.
Overall, the Packers received the third most fan votes, followed by the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seahawks.
The Packers had three players topping their respective positions in the fan poll: left winger David Bakhtiari, flank player Za’Darius Smith and long snapper Hunter Bradley.
The first Pro Bowl rosters will be announced on Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. CT on the NFL network.
