Pandemic can be overcome quickly with right tools: WHO

LONDON (Reuters) - The global COVID-19 pandemic can be overcome quickly if countries use the right tools, the head of the World Health Organization said on Monday, but warned that if not used, those tools would last long would.
"If we use the tools at our disposal properly, we can end them soon," said WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at the Financial Times' online Africa Summit. The addition of a vaccine was expected in late 2020 or early next year.
"If we don't use the tools we have on hand properly, it could stay with us, it could stay with us for a very long time," he said.
