People seem divided over the "Our First Pandemic" ornament that Aniston shared in her story
Aniston's image of the ornament caused mixed reactions. Some Twitter users urged the actress to share a message that appears to be ignoring the myriad losses and unprecedented challenges posed by the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Some seemed to connect Aniston's Instagram post about the Christmas decorations with others when celebrities made coronavirus-related social media mistakes.
"All of the celebrities who did something during this pandemic show how touchless and just clueless they are about anything unrelated to them. Some people's entire families have died, but at least Aniston shows how quirky she can be "One user wrote in response to an @PopCrave tweet from Aniston's Instagram story.
Other social media users defended Aniston and her post, pointing out that she had previously shared Instagram posts expressing empathy for victims of COVID-19 and encouraging people to wear face masks and the Follow public health guidelines.
Twitter users defending Aniston suggested the decoration was supposed to be a joke or suggested the star had no bad intentions.
Some people pointed out that Aniston isn't the only one who seems to have a decoration with a similar feel.
"Jennifer Aniston isn't even the first person I've seen with an ornament like this this year ... one of my friends made one that said 'baby's first pandemic'," wrote a Twitter user on Saturday.
At the time of publication, Aniston had not responded publicly to the criticism.
