Pete Davidson broke his silence over his ex-Cazzie David's most recent collection of essays, "No One Asked for This," which contained an essay inspired by their 2018 split.
"I'm really happy for her. It worked well and we're cool. I wish her all the best," Davidson said in an interview with Insider. "I think she wrote a really fun book and I hope it stays on the map."
"No One Asked for This" was published by HMH Books in November and was published as the second largest book on the New York Times paperback bestseller list on December 6th.
David previously confirmed in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that the exes are now friends and stated that she showed Davidson the essay before it was published.
She also admitted that one of the book's final entries, "Erase Me," was the essay she most wanted to share with readers.
"It was a really defining moment in my life," David told the point of sale. "And writing about it scared me a lot, especially because I talk so much about hating the attention it got me. Why should I get more attention by writing about it? But there is nothing what will be worse than what I've already experienced with it. "
In "Erase Me" David wrote a detailed account of her split in 2018 with actor "Saturday Night Live".
She claimed the comedian ended their two-year relationship over text. The next day, she logged on to social media and learned that he had covered up the tattoos dedicated to her and moved on with Ariana Grande. David wrote, "I felt terrorized."
At the end of "Nobody Asked," David added a note thanking her ex.
"Pete. I love you. Thank you for being encouraging when you didn't have to be. Your bravery inspires me and your friendship means the world to me," she wrote.

Not only does Davidson appear regularly on Saturday Night Live, he is also currently working with Amazon. He and his grandfather Stephen Davidson released several never-before-seen home movies from the comedian's childhood in a video promoting the Echo Show, a smart speaker with video calling capabilities.
To celebrate the partnership, Amazon has pledged to donate $ 1 million worth of Amazon devices to organizations that support first responders. One of the organizations is Answer The Call, a fund that supported Pete's family after his father's death.
"Answer The Call is just a really fantastic organization that helped my family when my father died," said Pete of his father, Scott, who died as a first aid worker in the September 11, 2001 attacks. "We wouldn't have been." We are really grateful that Amazon is doing this just to be able to support these types of organizations in some way. "
