Pink's Husband Carey Hart Defends Being a "Firm Believer" in Teaching His Kids How to Shoot Guns

Carey Hart isn't ashamed to say he's proud of the way his children Willow, 9) and Jameson, 3, handle firearms.
Pink's husband posted footage of the two children learning how to shoot guns on his Instagram page on Sunday October 11th. He has the picture and video titled "Fun morning shooting with my kids! Willz gets seriously good with the rifle and gun handling. And Jamo absolutely loves to shoot! And the speed with which he processes handling them makes me proud. "
The former motocross racer continued, "I have a firm belief in teaching my kids how to shoot, but more importantly, how to use a firearm. No better sound than the bullet of your childrens gun plucking a steel target 30 meters away. Weekend , all together. "
Carey probably expected some backlash by adding these hashtags: "#IfYourDontLikeItScrollOn #PokeTheBear"
The comments reflected the split in his post. Some praised him for teaching his children how to shoot, others advocated stricter gun laws. Carey responded to some of those comments, including one that suggested he teach a parenting class how to "get these kids off the couch."

But Carey said he doesn't see himself as an instructor anytime soon. "I've got my hands full with these two. If they had a choice, their asses would be watching cartoons on the couch," he replied. "But my wife and I are taking the initiative to get her outside."
The father of two is a seasoned professional at dealing with critics on social media. Over the years, he and Pink have struggled with all sorts of issues including getting their 23-month-old husband allowed to ride a dirt bike.

Back in December 2018, the motocross enthusiast shared footage of him and Jameson riding a bike, sparking a series of comments that criticized his parents. But the father was unimpressed and simply said to the commentators, "Don't worry, Parental Police, I'm a professional. #BeADadNotAFad."
He and Pink share the same smug attitude towards social media trolls, as exemplified in Pink's anniversary tribute to Carey back in September. She wrote on Instagram that despite her struggles, there is no one she would rather be with. "People laugh at us because we either fight or we laugh. They roll their eyes when we talk about therapy," she mused. "But I'll tell you something. It's worth it. Anything. Even if it isn't."
