Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Just Officially Split from the Queen's Legal Team

By Marie Claire
In the latest development in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal exit, the couple have cut the ties from Harbottle & Lewis, the law firm that represents the Queen.
Royal insiders say the split is a strong indication that Harry and Meghan will not return to their lives as full-time royals if they review their exit from the Queen next year.
The Sussexes also replaced Harbottle & Lewis in their nonprofit Archewell, which is now represented by the "competitor" Fieldfisher.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have just taken a big step to make their royal exit permanent.
Daily Mail columnist Richard Eden announced on Friday that the Sussexes have submitted official documents to disconnect from the Queen's long-standing legal team at Harbottle & Lewis. According to Eden, the move was a surprise to insiders as Harry had been personally represented by Harbottle since he was young and even asked senior partner Gerrard Tyrrell to become director of the Sussex Royal Charity.
Royal insiders say this development is a big clue that Harry and Meghan will not return to the ranks of the working royals when they review their first year after separating with the queen the next year.
"It seems to show that they have no intention of coming back," said a courtier. "The choice of lawyers is very important to the royal household, and Gerrard was a useful neutral liaison between the Sussex and the palace."
Harbottle & Lewis not only represented Harry and the rest of the royal family, but were also won over to work with the new Sussexes Archewell nonprofit, but they were also replaced there. Now a "competing company", Fieldfisher, will represent the non-profit association Sussex in legal matters.
"They wanted to train their own lawyers, not those used by the royal family. They are on an independent path," a royal source told the Daily Mail.
