Prince Harry Was "Fighting Back Tears" During a Very Public Royal Snub

From Marie Claire
A new book claims that Prince Harry allegedly "fought" tears during the Commonwealth Day Service.
Harry and Meghan were banned from attending the event with the Queen and other high-ranking kings.
Okay, do you remember March 2020 when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry joined Prince William, Kate Middleton and the Queen in the Commonwealth Day Service? A.k.a. her last appearance as working royals?
Yes, apparently it was a dramatic climax - at least according to Robert Lacey's new book, Battle of Brothers.
But first a little background. Apparently, the original plan was for Kate and William to enter the event with the Queen, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, while Harry and Meghan were to take their seats in front of them. The Daily Mail revealed at the time that Meghan and Harry were "quite sensitive and emotional" and that William and Kate "stepped in to defuse the situation" and offered to join them in their seats instead of walking in with the Queen & co .
But here's the thing: Lacey reports that programs announcing the order of the procession and revealing Harry and Meghan's nudges were distributed to everyone in the building before they even arrived.
"The only problem was that 2,000 service contracts had already been distributed in the abbey, which explained that William and Kate would join the main royal party and work with it - and not mention Harry and Meghan at all," Lacey writes per Newsweek. "So there was the nudge in black and white - for all to see. Observers also noted that Harry's face was 'quite tense and without a smile' - and that William barely greeted his brother when he sat down next to Meghan slapped hers TV smiles off, but as the ceremony went on, Harry seemed to grow gloomier and, according to one observer, his blinking blinking more quickly indicated that he might have fought back tears.
I mean ... to be honest, Harry had every reason to be upset - especially considering that he and Meghan are members of the royal family and were still working for the crown at the time. Just saying!
