Prince William and Kate Middleton Come Under Fire for Family Christmas Outing
Prince William and Kate Middleton are on the cheeky Santas list after being caught violating UK COVID-19 restrictions.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were photographed with their three children on Sunday 20th December on the Sandringham Estate of Queen Elizabeth among Prince Edward's family. Together, the group consisted of nine people, three more than the government under the Tier 2 restrictions.
According to The Daily Mail, the Tier 2 restrictions specifically state, "You can see friends and family who you don't live with (or who you don't have a support bubble with) in a group of no more than six people outdoors . That limit of six includes children of all ages. "
But royal sources told The Daily Mail that it was never the family's intention to meet on the Luminate Christmas art series, and that the two groups arrived separately.
Kate and Will had previously come under fire on December 11th when they took Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5 and Prince Louis, 2 to a puppet show at London's Palladium Theater.

Though the event was held to honor key workers and their families, the Cambridge family has been criticized for not wearing masks on the red carpet. However, they wore face coverings during the performance.

Additionally, the Duke and Duchess were upset when they went on a three-day train tour of England, Wales and Scotland. On December 8, Welsh Health Minister Vaughan Gething told the BBC that he was not "particularly bothered or interested" when William and Kate honored important workers. "I would rather that nobody had unnecessary visits," he added. "And people always have different views about the monarchy, but your visit is no excuse for people being confused about what to do."
It is currently unclear how the royal family will celebrate Christmas as COVID restrictions keep many families apart during this holiday season. Addressing the dilemma during his tour, Prince William told a member of the public, "It's so difficult. We're still trying to make plans ... It's difficult to know what is best to do."
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to socialize at their Santa Barbara, California home. They were last seen running errands in Beverly Hills on Sunday, December 20.
